The 405

Third Law spends its 53-minutes creeping into your head like a layer of rolling fog and filling it with a sense of uneasiness that builds gradually but is never fully resolved.

84
Resident Advisor
Porter has figured out how to channel the aggression of his early material into the maturity and otherworldliness of his solo work, and it's as breathtaking as it is bruising.
80
Spin

Porter weaponizes sound, making just a single listen to his album akin to enduring a sophisticated psychological thriller like Black Swan, in which much of the tension comes from anticipating the severe jolts of surprise.

Exclaim!

A lesser mind would have dissolved inside the sinister haze that is Third Law.

80
AllMusic

As eye-opening as its cover art, Third Law is a startling, fascinating listen and another triumph for Porter.

80
PopMatters
In the history of electronic music paying homage to our ideas of outer space, Porter has crafted a deserving addition to the canon.

Pitchfork

Third Law suggests that big-budget sci-fi directors who ignore Porter's work are seriously missing out. But he doesn’t need the silver screen to get his ideas across; this album has all the drama you could ask for on its own.

XLR8R

There are heavily affective sensibilities at work with Third Law, largely due to Porter’s dissection of his surroundings and the general make up of his left-behind genres.

Tiny Mix Tapes
The experience is often overwhelming, and if it weren’t for the technical prowess of the artist in sculpting these sounds, then it would also be far too overbearing.

This stuff is weird shit. I like it. However, I must admit that I had high expectations on this and well... I didn't got exactly what I wanted. Roly Porter achieves this dark awakening sound that forces you to pay attention, it's agitating and intense, you NEVER get bored. Nonetheless, not all of the tracks have the same impact, while half feel like a perfect David Fincher sci-fi movie's soundtrack, the other half gets forgettable 'cause the sound it's not as strong or catchy as it should be. ... read more

Raw, bleak, unfiltered and otherworldly. It puts you in a daze and leaves you healthily confused. Extreme experience.

☆☆☆ ~ Great and respectable work. Even though the whole project doesn't manages the virtuosity and versatility as a majestic album effectively does, the overall feeling was succesfully positive on me.

MAD MAD MAD MAN. Just wtf, this is amazing.
If your still on the fence about this, listen to Mass and feel your brain melt into soup.

Third Law é um álbum simplesmente inescapável, é surreal. Porter conseguiu transformar suas ideias em faixas maravilhosas, as musicas são sombrias porem te deixam em um bom estado após ouvi-las.
