Extremely based.


One of the forerunners in American black metal, Krallice now has a 3 year album streak, starting with the technical death metal record, Mass Cathexis in 2020, then their quarantine album in 2021 where they added synth arrangements to their black metal sounds, recorded under less than ideal circumstances including in a car. Krallice, you outdid yourselves. I think the first time this album threw me for a loop was hearing literal thrash riffs during a black metal song. Listen closely on the opener, it's almost the riff from For Whom The Bell Tolls, and it's not a bad thing it's a marvelous thing. That prepares you for a black metal ride that genuinely sets a standard for what the genre even is with it's wild and audacious experimentation.
