Drowned in Sound

Its astounding that AB can reel off so many downright enjoyable songs that it almost hurts.

Tiny Mix Tapes
It’s surprisingly comforting to hear a band like this come along and put everything in perspective, making you fall in love with music relating to your life, instead of becoming so grandiose and impersonal as most music has in recent years.

AllMusic

Though it runs out of steam slightly (at least in comparison to the pop art brilliance of the band's best songs) on its second half, Bang Bang Rock & Roll is a terrific debut, and Art Brut are smart, catchy, and fun.

Pitchfork

As with the best LCD Soundsystem singles, Bang Bang Rock & Roll is at times some of the best music criticism going right now, and far better than our boringly verbose bullshit 'cause you can dance to it.

The group pretty quickly with the first track make it clear that they intend to craft something emphatic, yet something in which they are willing to show their playful side. Although this is album isn't exactly earth-shattering, it's definitely a bop. It borrows from New Wave, Post-Punk, Punk Rock, and fuses it ... read more
