A chilling spooky end to an astonishing debut album that should rocket The Mysterines into the mainstream or I’ll eat my coat.
To have this level of balance, coherence and consistency on their debut album is an exciting sign for things to come.
A striking introduction to a band who take discomfort, tie it in a bow, then stamp on it with their boots.
The band demonstrate the excitement bubbling beneath the surface of the UK rock scene, ready to pierce through its thin veil at any moment – Reeling is that moment for The Mysterines, and it’s a debut you won’t forget in a hurry.
The weather forecast for ‘Reeling’ is relentlessly stormy and wild: it feeds into that impulse to stomp and rage and become your most ferocious self. The Mysterines certainly have.
On their electrifying debut album, the Scousers make good on their promise of becoming the UK’s next rock heroes.
Though not a flawless effort, musically speaking, this band’s baby teeth are not far off falling out.
Reeling is undoubtedly a solid step on a road to a successful career, and one that will find this band honing in on both its desired path as well as strengths that will become clearer as time goes by.
Pretty great honestly. Never heard of them until the Arctic monkeys tour was announced the other day, but yeah they seem pretty cool. One of my favs of this year so far.

It's fine. There are moments here and there that are relatively gripping, but overall there's just something missing to keep me coming back for more.
