A.V. Club

Though the collab with Swift has resulted in easily Jurado’s most fascinating records as a songwriter, the wide-open road might be a little too inviting at times—because occasionally you need to consult a map for fear of driving off the end of the Earth.

The Line of Best Fit

Visions Of Us On The Land is a very rare creature, a 17-track album with not a wasted second; it’s also a testament to the immense talent of one of the most under-sung, distinct songwriting talents in the business.

Under The Radar

With bountiful sonic and lyrical left turns that are full of adventure, mystery, and soul-searching, Jurado completes his vision for the trilogy in grand fashion.

Visions of Us on the Land combines made-for-TV sci-fi soundscapes, Americana, pop, rock and indie-folk with thundering percussion, psychedelic synth, gospel choir and distorted guitar in a sonic palette that charms and mystifies.

It's an intense and trippy odyssey, one that should make fans old and new appreciative of Jurado's depth while mulling along: "Are we all not lost in song/Feeding back until we're found?"

Visions of Us on the Land may not be the most surprising of the trilogy, from a listener’s standpoint, but it is certainly the most assured.

Consequence of Sound

This is the payoff that Jurado has been building to over the last four years.

American Songwriter

What he really does best is make headphones music, the kind into which you can submerge yourself and come away with something new every time.

The Skinny

It’s true Jurado’s been around much longer, but these ears can’t help but hear echoes of more contemporary folksy troubadours Fleet Foxes.

If you put four or five tracks together you might get a song.

Its a mixture of Father John Misty, Fleet Foxes and My Morning Jacket.
