I wanted this to be good, I really did, but so many of the songs so similar to each other that it doesn’t even function as a unique record in any sense of the word.
I love slowcore too, I just wish some more effort was put it to making the songs sound somewhat different from one another.
7.3/10
Teethe’s self titled album is a saddened slowcore exploration with some gaze to it as well. I honestly don’t find this tape super interesting despite it aligning with my tastes in a lot of ways and feeling the emotions it showcases here. It feels like a weaker version of the newest Horse Jumper album imo. This is a project beloved by some so if you’re into some emo adjacent slowcore with some shoegaze influence it’s definitely an album to try for you
While it doesn't reinvent the wheel of slowcore, Teethe's eponymous record still manages to be a relaxing listen. This record is filling the room with a nostalgic and peaceful sound that I wouldn't mind hearing again.
friend recommended me this slowcore band, and I really liked this ! can't pretend like most of these songs don't sound REALLY similar to each other. but if anything stands out, apart from the dual vocals, there's something about the chords they chose for many of these songs that I really liked a lot. nothing groundbreaking, but it doesn't have to be. just some solid, pretty slowcore !
i'm a slowcore devourer, and yet i'm met with an album that i unfortunately don't think i would revisit apart from a few songs
