This is good but not his best for me - that title goes to ‘Break it Yourself’.
The very first Andrew Bird record I've heard on the summer of '05 and still sounding fresh as ever every time I listen to it. The breezy pleasant feel it emanate is a feeling I wish I could go back to, nostalgia at its most beautiful and simplistic. A resplendent pop-folk effort.
+5 points for the cover and the mention of eggs
A must-listen for Andrew Bird fans, and really, for music fans in general. Of all of Andrew Bird's records, this one is probably the strongest distillation of his talents into one record. It's a bit more cohesive than some of his extremely eclectic albums -- sonically, it sits somewhere in the chamber pop realm, with stellar melodies. There's no one who has a way with words quite the same way as Andrew Bird, but the hyper-intelligence never seems pretentiousness -- it's just great.
