Distorted Sound

Plague God is an all-consuming, mesmerising sonic experience and meditation, one that demands attention and repeat listens to unpack not just its music but also its philosophy and desire to understand – what does it mean to be human?


I personally find good sludge hard to come by. This be meeting the remit. The industrial leanings of ‘In Spite in Sprite are’ incredibly enjoyable and I would have liked more of this across the rest of the record.

The debut LP from the self proclaimed experimental sludge metal band Absent in Body is a monster of its own kind, and although it isn't really that much experimental, it throws some nice ideas over its course, and feels rather unique.


I go excited the first time I've heard about this collaboration by musicians of my favourite Neurosis and Amenra. Plus also Igor Cavalera from Sepultura. This album sounds like atmo sludge mix of the music of each of those artists.
The first track sounds literally like Amenra's composition. "In Spirit in Spite" is, however, closed to the mix of Amenra with industrial vibe od Scott Kelly's music known from his other projects - Corrections House and Mirrors for Psychic Warfare. In the ... read more
