The Doors is the self-titled debut album from the American band, released in January 1967. It was recorded at Sunset Sound, Hollywood in August 1966.
The band had been working on material for their debut album throughout 1966 at various stages e.g. Whisky a Go Go. Recording started after their dismissal from the venue, under the maintenance of Elektra Records.
