The talents of Dreamville's roster shine through on D-Day.

A few beams of sunlight peer through an otherwise bone dry tracklist, making D-Day not completely unlistenable but certainly not worthy of a second glance.

In the end, D-Day is more content for the Dreamville metaverse, the kind of project on which empires are sustained but not won.
With how quick DJ Drama got that Will Smith/Chris Rock reference in, this must have been finished last minute and it kinda shows, even if it's decent.
This is basically just a collection of throwaway tracks, and while these aren't bad and there are some solid songs here, it doesn't really come together as a whole and is pretty forgettable. Also, I definitely misheard “I be keepin’ my kids away from the gaze of the public”. Like I know what you meant but god that was not a good way to phrase that lmao
DJ Drama is goated for the Will Smith reference after only three days. This compilation mixtape confirms that JID and Cole are by far the best on the Dreamville label for me. Don't get me wrong Lute, Earthgang, Ari, Bas, etc. all do their thing and it's probably the label's best compilation so far but those two steal the show. Apart from the rapping, I get that it's meant to be a collection of bangers but the hard-hitting trap production can sound very basic at times.
