Florist delicately captures the place and time in which it was born and then sets it free from Sprague’s cupped hands as something to behold as wondrous.
Florist is a very nice and pleasant record. It sounds good on the ears and overall feels like a warm hug on a Sunday morning.
For me personally, it overstays its welcome quite a bit, with the record being 19 tracks, while every song sounds pretty much the exact same. That's not a bad thing if you really LOVE this type of relaxing Indie Rock, and while I do enjoy the vibe, I would've preferred this record if it had more variety to it. This album starts out almost eerie sounding to me? I'm not really huge on this kind of album, so I didn't go in thinking I would like it or anything like that. This has a mellow, almost rainy day aesthetic to it which is actually quite soothing.

It does have the natural qualities found in Big Thief's music, but the parts embodied with acoustic guitars and instrumentals are not predominant, with some natural sounding samples, breathy interludes, and an unhurried expression of exclusive intimacy.
