Mercury — Act 2 is the product of a band that realizes the essence of its appeal, tweaking it just enough to potentially interest nonfans while never losing sight of how they reached the world’s biggest stages in the first place.

While the buoyant handclaps-and-synths highlight "Younger" and the riffs-and-breakbeats blazer "Blur" come closest to joining their array of mainstream smashes on a future Greatest Hits set, the bulk of Act 2 is truly for the dedicated fans who care to patiently sit with Reynolds and his feelings until everyone's ready to pump out a more focused and immediate set.

In a bid to appeal to everyone, the band have removed anything that would make them stand out. There’s no doubt you’ll hear Imagine Dragons’ music everywhere over the next few months, but you’ll be hard pushed to remember it.

The same as the first part, just less annoying

On "mercury act ll" imagine dragons manage to make some listenable tunes and there is no sign of dan reynolds unprofessional and annoying screams. But the bad songwriting and unnecessarily fast singing and insufferable choruses, basically things that keep imagine dragons from even being close to a decent band are still heard in their new record. And containing 18 songs and the total length being almost 1 hour for such a boring album ... read more

makes everything in Act 1 feel like extra crap they needed to get rid of. act 2 is not perfect but no songs made me as annoyed as act 1 did
“Sharks” isn’t the best song of all time but it mighta saved this album
