Clash
‘The Family’ is the perfect BROCKHAMPTON album. It has a flawless balance on energy fuelled moments with more melancholic ones, and the departure in sound from previous efforts makes for a compelling full listen.

AllMusic

Ending this part of their story with grace and simplicity, The Family is not only a thank-you letter to fans but to the guys themselves -- a band of brothers who came, conquered, and clocked out while still on top.

80
NME
Billed as their “final” album (despite a last-minute bonus release), the climax of the hip-hop collective’s prolonged goodbye sees Kevin Abstract take the mic to deliver their last words.
80
The Line of Best Fit
There’s a sense that going out with intention freed them up creatively like never before.
80
Rolling Stone
The ambitious rap collective ends on a nostalgic, honest, and introspective note.
80
The Telegraph

For a group who found fame as a collective, The Family strangely sees Abstract as the only featured vocalist, reflecting and venting on the band’s turbulent journey.

Still Listening
BROCKHAMPTON's seventh studio album, 'The Family', marks the group's final chapter and is a fitting farewell to the beloved hip-hop collective.
72
Pitchfork
The purported final album from the chart-topping hip-hop collective chronicles their rise and accelerated decline through the lens of a mercurial Svengali.
70
DIY
Billed as the band’s final album, ‘The Family’ is an alluring, Kevin Abstract-heavy affair. But as ever with the group, is this truly the end?

Slant Magazine

For better or worse, The Family may, paradoxically, be Brockhampton’s most honest and adventurous effort since their debut.

Evening Standard

There’s plenty of intrigue here for gossipy fans to dissect, but for those who simply want to hear a great group in fine flow, TM is the better bet.

Welp. I'm biased.

No, it's not just because Kevin hates Reddit. I really do mean it.

Brockhampton, as some of you may be aware if you’ve interacted with me or my music before, has been one of the most demonstrably impactful artists for me back in 2017/2018. Back then, I was very new to trying to interact with music on a broader sense, trying to expand my musical taste outside of the Alt-Rock I was used to at the time, and while I had heard Hip Hop music before (obviously) and loved it ... read more

Most underrated album of 2022. Even though some tracks are lackluster, the ones that hit hit as hard as a rock (Brockhampton, RZA, Boyband, The Ending, etc)

This was just a Kevin Abstract solo album with him complaining about the ending of the band. It’s nothing too impressive, there’s some production that’s good but it puts a sour taste in my mouth by the end of it.
