Well, damn, I just listened to a progressive rock masterpiece. This album offers the best that the band has to offer. Okay, maybe I'm not right, although that would be crazy, because this album is amazing, would be hard to imagine it as not the band's best effort. Psychedelic rock, jazz fusion and classic prog from early 70s are all genres which work so well together, and Caravan's performance and songwriting uses everything to the max. So I'll just get right into the album!

A great progressive rock / Canterbury Scene record with some nice production into a warm soundscape and with some nice optimistic lyrics, In The Land of Grey and Pink shines in its warmth and cuddles you into its sound

This is such an interesting album. The main word that comes to mind is "melodic". For some reason, many of the intense or high-pitched vocals of this era often turn me away. But Caravan sounds extremely smooth, mellow but not detached, and perfectly complimenting the complex and versatile instruments. The songs don't necessarily make sense, but this is more of an experience - including a side B that is just an entire song. Prog rock to the core. Definitely worth a listen.
