After a 4 year break Phil came back with the album that probably defines him best as an artist, it's an essential guide to who he is as an artist: from the rock material (Hang in Long Enough), the ballads (That's Just the Way It Is) to the midtempo catchy tracks (Do You Remember? and Another Day in Paradise). The only new inovation here are the more socially conscious lyrics, which definitely work. Overall this was a great way for him to finish the 80s.

At last I was able to listen to this Phil Collins album that I had in queue for many months, the last of this tetralogy from the 80's.

…But Seriously is the culmination of his sound, of the four albums, this is where he manages to place, polish and take advantage of everything that he had been experiencing on the first three albums of his, added to those of Genesis.
