PopMatters

This is a truly accomplished and slick pop album, but its lyrical content will probably lose Bruno Mars some sales and some of his core audience.

Spin

The bulk of Unorthodox Jukebox benefits from presenting Bruno Mars as he truly imagines himself: a big belter with an ear for pop hooks, sure, but one unafraid to dive into murkier waters.

Paste

For all its ultra-catchy eclecticism, Unorthodox Jukebox really isn’t all that unorthodox

A.V. Club

Mars rarely sounds like anything more than a well-rehearsed reality-competition singer eager to dazzle on theme week.

Continuing with my favorite albums of the decade, it is now the turn of Unorthodox Jukebox. Here there are not as many feelings in this album as in the previous ones that I have reviewed. "Locked Out Heaven" is one of those songs that when you play it, puts you in a good mood, but it was quickly overshadowed by "Moonshie", for me one of Bruno Mars's best songs, it's beautiful, sweet, cheesy, but with a great sound that refers you to the eighties ballads. The album title gets a 2/10, but i think his voice and delivery on most of this is really really good. There's only 1 track on here that isn't good. I really don't see any massive issues with his song topic or lyrics like some people with gripes here do. But then again i grew up with my mom blasting this album so i might be a bit biased. Sorry for no review on each track i didn't listen to this while reviewing it.

Young Girls: 76/100 (Good)
Locked Out Of Heaven: 77/100 (Good)
Gorilla : 72/100 ... read more

I'm not even going to bother reviewing this because of how terribly biased I am towards this album. I grew up with these tracks man, there is no way I could objectively review them. Just listen to it. Please.
