Masterfully produced. Beyonce proves over and over again that her artistic ambitions are both diverse and precise, and what’s more, that what she has to say is important.

By now, Formation is sitting atop the end of many lists as the best song in 2016. While its label as the year's best song can be debated, what can't is its impact: hundreds of remixes, contempt from conservative news networks (which guarantees brilliance a la "Alright") and its endless plays in stadiums worldwide. The marching band-esque production makes this a perfect anthem for those willing to fight oppression (a theme within the context of the song's video) with compelling grace.
Absolutely fantastic song. This may be my favorite thing Beyoncé has ever released.
Easily Beyonce's Best Lead Single.
The production is TIGHT on this. Ever since 2011 or so I just can't dislike the stuff this woman releases. There's the occasional dud, but she more than makes up for it with other songs. The vocal delivery is just so confident and aggressive, I love it.
Formation is one of the most powerful songs that Beyoncé has put out. One of the most honest and relevant songs Beyoncé has given us. It is refreshing to see someone in her position still remain grounded, concerned about their community and at the same time stay on top of their career and always reinvent themselves.
