Mark Linkous lives in a world where the skies are grimy and gray, the streets have no name, and everyone has a nasty love hangover .... Sound ugly as sin? It’s actually heartbreakingly beautiful; Linkous’ songs are so fragile and tender, you’ll want to coddle them.

Mark Linkous’ second album as Sparklehorse shines an old light on impossible things. He found the purity of pop music and then lacerated it with the quirks and imperfections he cherished.

Good morning bird I don't see no spider wdym

After relistening to It’s A Wonderful Life over and over again because of how good it is, I decided it was about time to check out Sparklehorse’s most acclaimed album, Good Morning Spider. Piano Fire means so much to me as a song, and it brings me to a certain place in my mind. This band can ... read more

A little bit too long but overall a pretty entertaining piece.

Some songs could been scrapped in its middle.
It would have been better but as is, it proposes many directions in terms of production and composition and there is a decent amount of fun moments through the whole record.

Surprising with a totally different opening to the futher songs "Pigs" is compelling one in an engergetig way. Most of the following songs are more calm and gentle. A swift exception is "Sick Of Goodbyes", which thrilles with its catchy groove. My highlight is "Hundred of Sparrows", one of the most absorbing songs Mark ever composed.
My favourite tracks are:
Painbirds
Sick of Goodbyes
All Night Home
Hundred Of Sparrows
Sunshine
