Gabrielle Smith, the artist formerly known as Eskimeaux, proved herself one of the better and more notable bedroom pop/Bandcamp artists with her excellent 2015 album “O.K.” Followup EP “Year of the Rabbit” could seem slight given the runtime, but it’s such a well-written and sweet set of songs that its brevity doesn’t really matter. I am simply blown away. Eskimoeaux's newest album/EP "Year of the Rabbit" is an indie-pop goldmine. This release is timed perfectly with the rise in temperature and the ascent to more joyful, brighter days. Eskimeaux's light vocals and upbeat tone deliver summer vibes to your ears--months early.
