An enchanting hip-hop classic with an almost mythological history.
Forget the fame and the luxury, rap could use a little bit of relatability every once and a while. Blu gives us a refreshing and new take on the life of a struggling person who just happens to rap on the side.
Below The Heavens is an incredibly consistent and entertaining hip-hop album that pulled heavy inspiration from traditional hip-hop standards rather than those popular at the time of this record's release (Bling era). The runtime exceeds an hour, even though you can't tell when listening. Long albums that go by in a flash are the best kind of long albums lmao.

This is an incredibly wise and underappreciated hip hop album, without a doubt. It's regarded as an underground hip hop classic, but beyond that it's been given little attention for unknown reasons given that the style and tone match perfectly with other albums that have worked in the same time frame.
