This album made my day.
An essential listening experience if you’re a Beach Boys fan, this feels like a complete album. Brian and his band usually do a good job of recreating old “SMiLE” tapes with adding something new to most of them as original was missing many lyrics and melodies. Even Brian’s deteriorated voice doesn’t bother me too much or the weaker harmonies, as the songs still feel fresh, but the annoying weakness of this release is the production is too clean and arrangments feel ... read more

yeah, this is good, but it seems much too late for this to have been created. smile would have been a groundbreaking album, if it were created at its point of conception in the 60's. however, the updated smile that Wilson put together in the 2000's really feels off and inauthentic. now, im not saying these arent totally awesome songs, because some of them really are. but the entire personality of the album is very forced and i cant get into it.
