I feel like this was recorded more recently than most of, if not all, of the songs on Mr. Morale... hopefully his next album matches the passion of this song. Mr. Morale felt relatively dry compared to this
Lauren London (Nipsey's partner) approved of it so I don't know if there's that much else to say. I will mention though that Kendrick purposefully went back to his own face when he forgave his (Kendrick's) shooter, so that shouldn't be considered from the perspective of Nipsey.
What do you guys think about Kendrick talking from the perspective of Nipsey. Do you think it was in good taste? I have seen some people complain about it online.
youtube reactors be like “we’re gonna break down every bar in this new kendrick song” meanwhile they were getting turnt up to that new tom macdonald song a few days prior
Bro I remember when GTA V dropped, like a year after GKMC. Had me walking around the hood terrified, playing as Franklin tryna envision Kendrick’s story lmfao. Honestly made the album even better cause I got to, as corny as it sounds, experience being black in a way.
This is my second day of listening to this and it’s still making me start to tear up. Kendrick’s passion paired with the jazz and strings is tear-jerkingly beautiful
I usually hate people who are like “this is one of his best songs ever” like 15 hours after an artist releases a song but this is one of his best songs ever
I listened to this for the first time today when i was walking to school in the morning, sun beaming, and then suddenly that chorus hits with the strings and my jaw was wide open, shivers down my back, magical moment
