I like that it sounds different. The overblown compression feels overwhelming, and intentional. It shows Gerard growing as an artist too with some really great writing, and the song stands out from anything else they have done. Left a decent impact. Good stuff, excited to hear the record.

A much more mature and dark MCR, one that has aged with its fanbase.
This track feels like a culmination of everything they've done during their time as a band into one 6-minute epic. It's an incredibly noisy and in your face track with elements of plenty of things we've heard throughout MCR's discography.
But this song has something that pretty much the rest of their discography doesn't.

Now bear with me here as this might be slightly weird to explain, but I'm still going to try. This song ... read more

BRUH what the hell holy fucking shit 40000 where did this come from? Mcr haven't released anything in almost a decade and suddenly said "fuck it" and released one of their best tracks ever in 2022.
I really loved the dark and gloomy atmosphere accompanied by gerard way's untouchable voice.
The songs pretty slow and chill, once again to no surprise, like many other mcr songs, the lyrics are dealing with the matter death, sorrow and grief. And so far it makes the song more emotional ... read more

(EDIT: 62 > 82, this may be my biggest jump in score ever. I actually looked into the lyrics on a relisten and it actually grew on me, i still stand by the mixing is weirdly fucked however the rest of this song sounded amazing in the context od Gerard's amazing song writing. I think i was expecting something black parade but instead they gave us something new. I'll leave the old review for comparison bewteen my thoughts, overall a great, albiet compressed to shit, song)

Who let this mixing ... read more

RARE SINGLE REVIEW ON MAIN! RARE SINGLE REVIEW ON MAIN!

IT'S NOT A PHASE, MOM!

Well, today has certainly been a day. New Kendrick double album, new Radiohead side project, various other releases that I should probably check out, One Piece is crazy good this week, and to top it off, MCR RELEASE A NEW SONG, ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?!?!
And you know me. I'm the guy who's been using the Black Parade's Pepe as my profile picture for over three goddamn years already, so of course I'm gonna need ... read more

There are two things I usually do not do. Firstly, rate or review singles, and secondly, rate or review after a single listen. I am going to be breaking my rules today.

The connection I felt with My Chemical Romance during my teens has seriously faded. I still admire their old music, but I no longer am so emotionally impacted with each and every listen. However, as I was listening to "The Foundations of Decay", a wave of that old feeling came back to me in a way that I have never ... read more

WTF!!! What a surprise. Epic and dark, feels like a natural progression for them for sure.

The band really just said "Fuck you Kendrick!" And dropped on of their best songs since The Black Parade, combining the grandiose stylings of their later albums with the grit and darkness of their first first recordings, creating a much darker, pounding and eerie sounding version of a band we've all long missed, huh?

AND THE LYRICS REFFERENCING THE BANDS DEPARTURE, THE INCIDENT OF 9/11 THAT INSPIRED THE BAND IN THE FIRST PLACE AND THE TYING IT TOGETHER WITH THE ISOLATION AND ... read more

This is literally what every fan of MCR could have desired and even more! Truly one of the best songs of the year! It takes the rawness of the first project and the maturity of "Three Cheers" and "The Black Parade" to create something unique, dark and surprising! If there will be a new project from them, I will be more than happy to hear it!

PS: this month has been insane in terms of albums and singles.

The song itself is decent but this one of the absolute worst mixes I have every heard on one of their songs and it ruins it for me. I appreciate the newer darker direction but the mixing is so bad like local band level bad. I can barley hear the greatest part about them, Gerard, and the drums are so boomy for absolutley no reason and i cant make out the guitar from bass and the clipping is off the charts.

I can't fucking believe this right now. The first ever band I took in my emo venture back in 2016-17, has actually made a comeback.

This is the stuff that dreams can only make, 2022 is already the best year for music.

The mix is shit, but everything buried is gold. While drowned out, the state of decay the band wants to go for is perfectly displayed. Gerard is screaming from beyond the grave that he wants to lay, but the fans built an altar of affection to show the world wants them back. The juxtaposition of towers and 9/11 showing their rise and fall and other metaphors throughout the song represents the band perfectly. The instruments are a blend of their three golden eras, along with some metal-like ... read more

Wow
I expected that they will only release trash dad music but guess I was wrong.
The new style is appropriate seems they are not that young anymore and I love the direction they are going into. Instrumentally this song is fire and only problem I have is that Gerard`s voice has become worse but that is to be expected. Otherwise lyrically this is just sad. Many artist face the same problem because of their fall off, but I think that MCR is the case of their own.
Great songwriting, excited to ... read more
