This one is good. This one is really good. Intense, scary and full of energy. Chat Pile's debut is one of the bests in 2022. There are some tracks that I wished had gone in a (slightly) different direction, but this record is fire.

This was actually the second record I listened to for my 2022 catch up, but when I first heard it I was actually quite underwhelmed. However, after a few more listens this has definitely grown on me a lot.

For a debut album, this is INSANE. It's so explosive and loud. It's also easily the most harrowing and disturbing record I've heard this year, and I truly mean that. "Grimace_Smoking_Weed.Jpeg" takes an objectively funny subject matter and manages to make one of, if not the most ... read more

Chat Pile’s biggest flaw with their debut is being almost too relentless. ‘God’s Country’ is a non-stop sonic bombardment, slamming through topics both on the personal and the societal scales with animalistic fury. For me, the band’s relative naivety is highlighted in the songwriting of some tracks, with the narrative being held in limbo with a few too many repetitions and call-backs - the lyrics could still be more incisive, to keep in line with the razor-sharp ... read more

Chat Pile’s first LP mixes great storytelling with excellent sludge metal for a great album full of thought inducing and straight up chilling moments.

The vocal performance is for me the highlight of this album and in the future will be referred to as iconic. From the soft talking moments to the heart wrenching screams on tracks like Why: WHY!?. Raygun Busch’s vocals convey more than only storytelling, they act as an instrument in the balance and make you experience every single ... read more

Well Shit. Very rarely does an album make me re-think and re-do my schedule. Yet here we are. This is one of the most diabolical and repulsive albums I’ve heard all year, and that is a HELL of a compliment. Chat Pile put together Sludgy riffs, tormented vocals, and some of the most suffocating production I’ve heard in any genre this year. It is disgusting, it is explosive, it is not for the weak of heart. If you’re a fan of the heavier side of ... read more

I didn't really enjoy listening to this at all. The mixing sounded poor, lyrics weren't that good, and there wasn't too many instrumental sections that caught my attention.

Chat Pile is a new band formed in 2019 and has released several EPs. This year they released their debut album. This is the most nervous album I've ever heard. The listener can feel the rage of the singer. Naalbom's style is hardcore punk with sludge metal abilities and elements of joy devijan i.e. post punk. It is not easy to get into this album, even the name of the album is not sensitive God's Country is the name of the album. Cover reminds me of Pink Floyd's Animals. There are songs that ... read more

spoken word noise sludge, pretty damn cool. like maybe don’t listen if you’re not in need of a political-driven angst, sorta, like, disturbing and hateful mess lmao. weird, blunt, heavy, pretty good shit but dystopia did this kind of messy humanity x use of spoken word or sampling x environmental whatever x offbeat stomach turning sludge more than twenty years ago. but this is still dope asf

'God's Country' is good even if it's a bit on the overrated side. Maybe my expectations were a bit too high given the amount of hype Chat Pile has been receiving, there's most certainly quality here but the praise it's getting is a bit overblown in my opinion. Like this album doesn't exactly do much that's all that mind-blowing or new for most part, some of it is a bit derivative of Daughters brand of Noise Rock which wouldn't be an issue on its own if the production and the performances are ... read more
