There certainly are some great "RIIIIFFFFS" but there's not enough "GRRROOOOOOVE"
The Queen's debut is pretty good, and while it's nothing compared to what they'd be making in four years, it still holds up alright. First things first; the riffs are just amazing, and this album has almost every other of their's beat (except SFTD) in that regard. But a major problem in the first few tracks, and also across some of the other songs, is their tendency to repeat too much. The Queens Of The Stone Age debut is something I thought I'd gravitate to more than I did. This is a band that I want to start getting into so what better place to start then their debut, however some parts of this keep me from thinking it's great.
