Aptly titled as it takes a jab on your jugular at initial listen with its idiosyncratic take on modern and classical influences. Ambitious in its desire to carve a distinction and successfully does so. A must listen for electronic aficionados.

"Thousand Knives Of" contains six long pieces of electronic music, that have complex arrangements and are full of synth beats. At the time of its release it was an innovative album, despite that the inspiration from japanese tradition is obvious. It is modern, fresh and playful, an album that has the elegance that Ryuichi Sakamoto's works usually have, despite its synth pop direction.

Fresh and innovative progressive electronic album that makes it hard to believe it was made all the way back in 1978. It also features the classic title track 1000 Knives and the whole album is basically a lot of different sounds packed into one huge hypnotic experience
