Aptly titled as it takes a jab on your jugular at initial listen with its idiosyncratic take on modern and classical influences. Ambitious in its desire to carve a distinction and successfully does so. A must listen for electronic aficionados.

"Thousand Knives Of" contains six long pieces of electronic music, that have complex arrangements and are full of synth beats. At the time of its release it was an innovative album, despite that the inspiration from japanese tradition is obvious. It is modern, fresh and playful, an album that has the elegance that Ryuichi Sakamoto's works usually have, despite its synth pop direction.

Lots to enjoy here, not all of it clicked for me personally though. Still super impressive for it's time and has an absolutely fantastic opening and closing tracks.
