Over/Underrated?: This one was well rated

I suppose this is an embarrassing admission but this is my first full length Harry Nilsson record. All my friends have told me I'd be into him but for some reason it took me this long. Nilsson is a bizarre, enigmatic character. His songs are simple in nature (he's even got an ode to his desk on this record), and instrumentally they share a similar simplicity. This is just what I've been looking for, in search of something similar to Brian Wilson, Randy Newman and Van Dyke Parks. Highly recommendable if you're into 60's pop in a classical approach. Baroque pop in other words of course. This is criminally underrated. Such a fun and enjoyable record.
