The Go! Team established themselves as one of the most daring and unique bands of their time from the very beginning of their career. Few artists had ever used such unique samples to craft bombastic sonic adventures before and almost no one had done it in such a glorious pop-friendly way. It’s not just that there’s nothing that sounds like “Thunder, Lightning, Strike!” — it’s unusual to find a record where you can’t even remotely decide what broad genre you’re in. Is it rock? Dance?
