The notorious spanish diva is back with her most ambitious and majestic work to date. Lubna is an incredibly massive album that was eight years in the making, coming at a surprising stage of her already extensive career. The progressive-rock grandeur shown on this concept piece is quite intriguing, to say the least. Mónica Naranjo is in a league of her own, as this 8-years-in-the-works rock opera shows. Not just arguably the most skilled vocalist working in the recorded music business, but also creating a 17-track concept album that creates the kind of atmosphere you will seek to recreate elsewhere, but never quite reach.
I doubt anything will beat this as AOTY.
