Like the works of its humble forebears Lil B and the venerable Soulja Boy, Lil Boat is the kind of music that does not need to make a case for its own value, only judged on the intangible, absurdist metrics of its self-contained universe.

Atlanta rapper and auto-tuned crooner Lil Yachty somehow inserts a feeling of innocence into the trap world with his odd voice and blissful production on this breakout mixtape.

There isn’t a single thing Lil Yachty’s doing that someone else isn't doing better, and in richer details. On Lil Boat, his debut mixtape, he makes a grating mess of these varying influences.
EDIT: not as good as i originally thought, but not as bad as i then thought. its fun and obviously not serious music, which is something that i would expect lil yachty to try to make.

Alright, hear me out. This mixtape has issues, I know, but I gain so much enjoyment from listening to this. Lil Yachty's voice, and it's large amount of auto-tune sometimes, is just filled with charm to me. This records sound, overall, is so gleeful and full of bliss I can't help but have a large smile on my face whenever I listen to this. Lil Yatchy gets interesting and tries his best. This is nice to listen to, I come back to Lil Boat every couple months for the catchy hooks and for just good times
Lil Yachty is a rapper from Atlanta and he is one of the souncloud rappers who makes me move my head the most. Lil Yachty raps, "Lil Boat" hums. Title after title, the two draw a pink candy bubble gum cloud trap, sweet and friendly.
