An absolutely enrapturing and subtlely sickening project to listen to. The grainy orchestral samples play off of the muted and repetitive bass and drum lines here to give a feeling of one's impending and inescapabale demise. The only real exception being the closer which feels more like a breaking point into the dark side.
This project felt like a dnb version of much of The Caretaker's body of work.
Standing on the edge of pastoral trip-hop, Matt Eliott re-activates his Third Eye Foundation and provides a compact, electronic soundtrack to a singular experience, having the generosity to let us choose which one and having the flexibility to choose a different one, every time we come back.
