While the brevity of the album helps avoid any bloat, it does also leave the final product a touch unfinished. That said, there’s so much here to love and, perhaps, most excitingly, in the end, this is clearly just a start for the next chapter in J-Hope’s career.

Whether the music on Jack in the Box suits your taste or not, it’s hard to dismiss this album as an artistic statement rather than just chapter 1/7 of BTS proving they can also make money in ways beyond official group releases.

O grande feito de Jack In The Box é soar interessante por justamente ser diferente de qualquer coisa que j-hope fez no seu disco anterior ou que ele teria feito no BTS.

Stellar beats all over this thing! Branching out from BTS paid off in spades, going for a more hip-hop/rap rock oriented sound. I j-hope he can keep it up!
I actually enjoyed the beats on here quite a bit, there's some live instrumentation being utilized here, and It's done well. My Issues lie In J-hope himself. His performances on here are lively and passionate yes, but In the same breath i feel like It's often too over the top. There are some poppier tracks included on here with 'Safety Zone' and What if...' among some others, and those are hit and miss as well.
