Consequence of Sound

Spaltro’s two biggest assets are her fearsome pipes and intricate lyrics, and Ripely Pine displays both with rich flavor.

PopMatters

There’s a certain maturity to this material that transcends the author’s young age, and you have to simply be in awe of what writing songs over a four year period in a video store could have wrought.

The 405

Spaltro's voice and lyrics are what make Ripely Pine what it is: a highly impressive and sometimes flat-out stunning listen, with emotion dripping from every note.

Ripely Pine is one of the most nourishing, deeply alive records of this young year.

Ripely pine is becoming one of my personal best albums.

Lady lamb is so powerful here, it's way above her latest album "even in the tremor" which was solid but lacking something to be great.

Every tracks are very good, half of the album is amazing (balloon birds, you are the apple, taxidermist taxidermist, the nothing pt2, aubergine, crane your neck. Maybe I forget some tracks). The songwriting is clever, her guitar parts are amazing. Everything is detailed yet so natural.

That power is what gives the record life and ... read more

“Ripely Pine” is a wonderful debut that introduces Lady Lamb the Beekeeper, aka Aly Spaltro, as a singer-songwriter who absolutely cannot be ignored. There is a *ton* going on over the course of the album’s hourlong runtime, and Spaltro pulls it all off with a mix of rawness and virtuosity. Her lyrics are delightfully ornate, and her delivery is impassioned and urgent. In the context of her maximalist songwriting and performances, the elaborate chamber-folk-meets-indie rock ... read more
