The Top Dawg Entertainment-signed rapper and singer makes her latest bold statement with this punchy and rebellious release.
Doechii is the most prominent female rapper this year, she's coming for huge things and I know it.
On this EP, TDE’s newest signee Doechii continues to show why she’s one of the most exciting and promising new artists in rap, and gets me even more excited for her debut LP.
All the songs are good, but don't do much to wow me or makes Doechii a standout voice... At the moment! Tons of potential here so I'll definitely keep an eye out.
Also with Persuasive having the SZA feature and already being the biggest song in Doechii's discography, I dread the house/downtempo trend we're gonna hear for next year or so....
I'm obsessed. Really wish that she keeps having her moment but all these tracks did to me was to make me 100% more hyped for her debut album.
Right off the bat, Doechii’s flow is vicious, her energy is unparalleled, and as someone who has never heard her music before, the amount of personality she immediately establishes is beyond impressive. The beats of the first two tracks go just as hard, which makes the slower R&B direction of “Bitches Be” even more jarring. The SZA impression she’s doing is bizarre as well, especially given that SZA herself appears two tracks later.
