My only compliant with this is that it's too short.
Yeah, I didn't really expect to like this, I'm not even the biggest k-pop fan, but this is really amazing, suck it BTS fans, this solos. Really relaxing production that can be listened by anytime and be liked, the choruses on Attention especially are just magical, I love it so much, I might as well dance around and sing like a girl because this shit makes me want to do that.
The future funk tinge to their sound is what is going to set this group apart from other k-pop contemporaries, you heard it here first.

The rollout for NewJeans' debut is a pretty interesting one. They dropped three songs from the EP just a few days before the actual EP is dropped without any notice whatsoever. I like this kind of rollout, please do this kind of rollout more instead of the prolonged debut rollout like how certain groups do it *cough* NMIXX *cough*.

NewJeans' debut album is what K-pop needs right now: groups that are not afraid to run away from the "common" without going fully experimental and doing anything weird or out of the curve that their agencies would think that'll sound great. the debut EP of the new k-pop group New Jeans is quite a boring experience without anything special. The first two songs are pretty good, with nice sweet production and nice vocals. But Cookie is a terrible song with simple, boring production and basic / bad lyrics. And the last songs are just a simple and bland kpop song.
The whole thing is just another boring, forgettable ep.

would be a 90 or more if the cookie lyrics weren’t so creepy… it’s obviously not their fault and the song itself is not bad but those just are not lyrics a group full of minors should sing what the hell is “looking at my cookie” and why does their company think that they can get away with it by saying it’s about actual cookies…

Min Hee-jin needs to be locked up (not in a Yoo Young-jin way, in a "ayo what the fuck" way) but she does know to direct good music
I don't really listen to kpop any but this is a new release so I wanted to give it a fair try

Musically amazing. However, cookie is a song that got me scared and worried about the girls. I hope they get a 2 years hiatus or remove the 12-year-old off the group.
