Amazing

Although still just as experimental as their other works, they utilized a more accessible sound, which is to this album's advantage. Who knew that Gentle Giant could do something, albeit still crazy, less normal than this record's predecessors. This thing has some of the craziest instrumentation I've ever heard in Prog Rock, super entertaining and enthralling.

While it's technical and impressive precise playing can be sometimes too goofy or odd for some, if you give this record time, you get Rush on acid going through old mythical scrolls. It's extremely entertaining and interesting.

The early 70s saw many progressive rock bands dish out essential records of the genre. However, one of the under-appreciated prog-rock band gentle giant was ahead of the curve. Their 1972 record "Octopus"" gave us an ambitious yet accessible album of their discography.
