Masterpiece imo. Amazing alternative rock album. Some amazing songs on here, some of their finest moments. “Pure Morning” is my wake and bake song
Once again another album that my dad introduced me to at an early age; Placebo's sophomore record is easily one of the best alt-rock records from the 90's period. This album is a diverse and dynamic listen; one with caustic fiery highs (e.g. Pure Morning, Brick Shithouse, Evil Dildo [the naughtiest hidden track]) and melancholic melodic lows (e.g. Ask For Answers, Burger Queen). The alternative-rock veterans show pretty much everything they went for (before/later) in their career with Without You I'm Nothing, one of their most beloved albums. The thing is, even though the band tries hard to craft some highly emotional and heartfelt songs on this record, calling their arrangements and songwriting skills 'great' would be either too kind or too naive.
