This album... what in the actual fuck was that?

This is one of those albums that I think words can't do justice on explaining why it's great. There's just so much here that this is a record that you really need to hear in order to understand why it is known as being as great as it is. This whole sound, this weird experimental sound combined with jazz and psychedelic rock, with certain choises made to make it sound dated even by '60s standards, it just has a certain charm to it that makes me ... read more

The United States of America were an American band from NYC registered to the Communist Party, were easily the most experimental of their psychedelic contemporaries. USA are to Death Grips, what The Beatles are to Kendrick Lamar. In other words, for those who don’t get modern hip-hop references, USA were the one’s bubbling over in the underground, pushing the boundaries of what was considered possible, while The Beatles were pushing the needle further out in the mainstream.

if you told me i'd rate a 60s rock album a 10/10 a few months ago i would have laughed in your face, but here we are

while I could describe how amazing this album is and write paragraphs about each track, i'd personally just suggest you listen to it yourself and make your own opinion about it.
