While one of Beefheart's most accessible albums, it has more of Beefheart's signature style than "The Spotlight Kid", and is the closest spiritual successor to "Safe as Milk". "Big Eyed Beans from Venus" is one of Beefheart's strongest tracks.

Perhaps Captain Beefheart’s most accessible album with tracks like “Too Much Time” and “Her Eyes are a Blue Million Miles”, Clear Spot showcases the artists ability to make a wide array of music for a wide array of people without truly diverting from his unique style.
