As it turns out, this was the last time they could still shoot for the stars and seem like their scrappy selves and, in many ways, it was the last true Replacements album.

Although, in my opinion, Pleased to Meet Me is the weakest out of the legendary The Replacements trilogy, it is still a great more straight foreword power pop alternative rock record with a nice mixture of slower songs such as Skyway to more upbeat jams like I.O.U. to jazzy elements of Nightclub Jitters and some of their best songs such as Alex Chilton for a nice well round album which is although the easily to digest Than Tim or Let It Be, it is just as fun as a listen.

Pleased to Meet Me is The Replacements in their unrivaled prime and possibly their peak, despite the record being scattered with several highlights along with borderline skips. Anyway, some will moan, others complain. Me, I listen to these pop strains of Mr. Westerberg and I'm flabbergasted that this record didn't make them a household appliance. Unbelievably great songs all the way through, from the fast ("I.O.U.") to the jazzy ("Nightclub Jitters") to the bold ... read more

Pleased To Meet Me takes the sound from tim and fleshes it out into a more consistent 80s production with more instruments than ever and it manages to create one of their best albums. Extremely fun and great alt rock.
