The Skinny
A nourishing balm of self-acceptance, Låpsley's latest album is a full-throttled call to open up to vulnerability instead of shutting yourself off.
80
DIY
This time she embraces cooler, bigger, brighter, more cohesive pop sensibilities, and never loses her invaluable intention.

NME
The Liverpool-hailing artist's third album is the sonic equivalent of an out-stretched hand to anyone that may be struggling.

AllMusic

Cautionary Tales of Youth closes ... on the meditative "Say I'm What You Need," whose echoing vocals, drowsy pace, spare, muffled accompaniment, and reassuring insistence that "I'm what you always needed" seem directed at an audience of Låpsley herself.

The Arts Desk
Alt-easy listening electronic not-pop themed around heartbreak but lacking songs.

Se não fosse pela fraca e desequilibrada performance vocal de Dona Låpsley, "Cautionary Tales Of Youth", com toda a certeza, seria um dos melhores álbuns pop de 2023.

The production on this record sounds quite nice but I'm very underwhelmed by her vocals. Her vocal ability is very limited and her singing displays very little passion or personality.

I don't quite understand the hate on this one. I think the production is fresh and engaging all throughout the album and her vocals were fitting for the most part as well aside from a few moments. It definitely felt like some 2013, modernized pop which I enjoyed.

I got nothing from this. vocals are uninspired and a rough at times. nothing interesting is happening production wise. a boring listen.
