Katatonia make a good album with this sound they are going for, but ever since they left the Doom Metal for a clean sound, they never have seemly executed it as well.
This is the turning point record in Katatonia's career where they found the exact sound they had been working toward and released this masterpiece of an album. Every member's performance here is a step up from the last record and the production is finally fitting for the new sound.
Even with the further progression into the melodic rock realm, this doesn't mean this album isn't dark. There is once again a loneliness to this album that is just portrayed in a new perspective.
