I listened to toxicity last year, then all of a sudden I jumped to this album. The one thing that I really enjoyed were the vocals, which fully showed off Serj's range and ability, as well as Daron throwing his own into the mix. The instrumentation and production shined at some points, such as in Violent Pornography and BYOB, but overall they were just decent, nothing special. System Of A Down are a band that hold a rather special place in my heart. I was someone who never listened to metal music, and I had no desire to listen to the genre. A friend then recommended listening to the track 'Radio/Video', and that's when I was first exposed to metal music-System Of A Down and this near perfect album- 'Mezmerize'. The biggest problem with the 2005 releases of System of a Down seems to be the guitar tones. Holy Hell, what was Daron (or whoever did them) thinking? This is totally ruining the soundscape for me. I remembered these songs sounding alright from when I was younger and edgier...

Honestly, if it weren't for This Cocaine Makes Me Feel Like I'm on This Song (and Old School Hollywood), this would probably be a 100 considering how long I've been loving this album. It's definitely my favorite SOAD record. Each song slaps one after the other, the excitement never stops and I'm all for it, always.
