Some of the greatest System of a Down songs are on here.
"Dreaming", "Holy Mountains", "Soldier Side"
Even the craziest track on here, "Vicinity of Obsenity" is great.
This was the 2nd hardest record to get into in their discography, but it was worth it, front to back is a really solid experience with some wonderful and powerful moments.

Also, damn I miss SOAD.

im relistening to this guys and feeling nostalgic nwn
I sometimes forget how much of an emotional connection I have with SOAD's work.
Now onto my tentative :) of an actual review.

This album, feels rather inconsistent in quality, having a handful of bangers and some snoozers or cringe-worthy moments. The production is not the best, specifically the guitar's ´ tones - maybe they were adequate for the time, but they have not aged well. That out of the way, this is System of a Down, this sounds like System of a Down. Serj's vocal delivery is ... read more
Hypnotize, while retaining some of the energy from Mezmerize, feels like glorified b-sides. It still goes hard, boy does it ever, but less so than Mezmerize; U-Fig, She's Like Heroin, Hypnotize, and Lonely Day feel like the afterthoughts of that album. While this might be the case for me, the rest of these feel like SOAD in top form, and honestly should have been collected under one record. Stealing Society's lyrics have been burned into my brain, Kill Rock 'n' Roll has such a great ... read more
This one's tough for me. I mean, I love it, don't get me wrong--it's just that I can't call it "perfect" like almost every other System album. Of course, it's got my favorite song of all time, Holy Mountains, and some more of the band's best songs (Tentative, Attack, Soldier Side). However, it's also got some real goofy ones that don't really fit in with the others. I like every track here, but it doesn't really flow as good as other System albums do. That doesn't stop me from adoring ... read more
Part 2 of this amazing project that was of two amazing albums is again quite fascinating and hypnotizing (pun intended). The whole project ends on the highest note it could end on with soldier side that gets me hyped to an indescribable level with a nod to the beginning of Mezmerize. The second part is no Mezmerize but it’s still quite interesting and fun as the first part. As no album of SOAD fails to deliver, this one is no exception. It’s a strong installment with bomb songs all ... read more
