This brand new LP from metalcore outfit Oceans Ate Alaska is filled with pop influences, whether the band incorporates a pop sample on a track like Metamorph, or a pop chorus, which show up multiple times throughout the record, or a track that's a blend between the two genres, Sol.
They also stay true to their metalcore roots with the sick blast beats and powerful guitar work. The vocals are good as well. The breakdowns are lovely too.

This is one that kind floats between a 75-80. The shining tracks really gave the boost up to an 80 because those are what makes me come back to the record. It can be pretty generic Progressive Metalcore, but they do it really really well. Plague Speech is clearly one of the best breakdowns of the year and one of the best assbeater tracks. It was a decent comeback album.
