It's difficult to establish just how good this album is. An album to re-awaken British Pop music from it's overlong slumber. Here's hoping someone, from whatever genre that wish, will rise to the challenge of this album.

It’s Streets by name, and streets by nature, and it’s great.

The music on Pirate Material, all produced by Skinner, is rarely short of poignant.

Given the fact that it does, eventually, manage to overcome the horrific-sounding concept of British hip-hop, it seems pretty reasonable to give it a recommendation. Bloody good show, I say.

An album that was massively ahead of it's time and was essential to bring garage music to an all time rise in popularity in the UK, "Original Pirate Material" is a necessary, influential, debut masterpiece from Mike Skinner's iconic project - 'The Streets'.

This is slowly turning into my favourite album from the year i was born. This album is lyrically funny to me sometimes, i hope that is intentional. The instrumentals mix grime and uk garage and the result is entertaining.

Favourite tracks: The Irony of It All, Sharp Darts, Don't Mug Yourself, Has It Come to This?
