Oddly quirky yet seamlessly synthetic with its use of dorky instrumentation and cut-n-paste nature. Having that folksy twang adds a charm to its unconventional song structures and pace. Like a pieced out audio collage and assembled together into a cohesive piece of experimental work..
one of my favourite experimental/electronic albums!! such a sweet balance w folk too
An appealing record, but personally I think the Books lose some of the magic of their sound on this one. The sense of mystery and overall strangeness isn't as striking, but it's still a unique listen.
