While the last few years have been turbulent for those waiting for In Flames to reclaim their mojo, they needn’t worry any further. Foregone is a stick of dynamite with a first-place ribbon attached; a sensational rejuvenation that even the staunchest doomsayers will have a hard time picking apart.
Foregone is a reminder that when In Flames are at the peak of their powers, they really are untouchable. This is a record that will see them finally reassert their dominance, and ring in their next colossal era.
With the release of Foregone, In Flames have shown they do still have the same fire that made their classics so good, and they have done so without totally abandoning the sound they’ve been cultivating over the last few decades.
Oft-aped, but never duplicated, In Flames’ unique take on melodeath has been palpable in its absence, which makes Foregone a joy to hear.
The legends are back! Their newer releases haven't been good but I had hope for this album since the singles were AMAZING. All of them. I'm a big fan of their older stuff, I even have a CD for The Jester Race. I predicted that this will be their 2nd best album, so was I right?

I've been wanting to review this, but for some reason, I just didn't.
Forgone is the 14th studio album by the band, In Flames. In Flames, in the early days, were a pretty enjoyable death metal band. I actually have one of their albums, which was Soundtrack To Your Escape. Which came out almost 20 years ago in 2004. I gotta say that album was pretty good. But thats not what we're talking about. In the 2010s, In Flames had one pretty bad decade from what I've heard. I haven't listened to any of ... read more
