Has its strong moments, really fuckin strong, but there's a lot of fat here, too. Absolutely worth a listen for Magnolia, Sjamboksa, and The Overpass, anyhow.

Gang of Youths’ debut The Positions is full of emotional slow burners and complex songwriting. The album’s lyrics mostly deal with David Le’aupepe’s then-wife’s cancer treatment, their move from Sydney to Nashville, his crisis of faith and the emotional toll it all took on him.
