It may be a lot to digest in one sitting, but 93696 offers a distillation of everything that makes Liturgy important to modern music. It’s incredibly gratifying to hear a band with so much drive to push boundaries succeed in such a satisfying way.

Sprinkled with tinkling glockenspiels, it ends in spectacular and pointedly cinematic fashion, as far removed from mundane notions of black metal as it is from the limited scope of the metal mainstream. Whatever "93696" is, it's worth experiencing loud and in full. No one else makes music quite like this.

okay everyone who enjoyed this album listen to the rest of her discography and then listen to Ulver and Panopticon and Trhä and a little bit of Mayhem and oh just a few more Darkthrone songs until you're hopelessly madly in love with Black Metal like me
